Dementia Friends Presentation
We are excited to host the UW Memory and Brain Wellness center program Dementia Friends, for an evening of learning about dementia, and how to best support people experiencing different aspects of Dementia.
Come join us for a free Dementia Friends Information Session where we’ll share about dementia within the Intellectual and Developmentally Disabled community. During Dementia Friends Information Sessions, individuals learn about what dementia is, the most common type, how it impacts this community specifically, communication tips and strategies, ways to take action, and available resources and support. Everyone who attends a session and commits to an action item (small or large) becomes a Dementia Friend and receives a certificate of recognition.
They will be focusing in on how this effects people with developmental disabilities. They will be sharing resources to help navigate the future needs of both caregivers and those needing care. This event is open to all friends and families and is FREE!
Due to space limitations this event is limited to 30 people so pre-registration is required. Please register here.
